General & Vascular Surgery

Dr. Warrett Kennard started his practice upon moving to Plano in 1991. He practices all aspects of general and vascular surgery, advanced laparoscopy, endocrine surgery, and corrective surgery for venous disorders and varicose veins.

Dr. Kennard is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, board certified in general surgery, a member of the Society for Vascular Ultrasound, the Dallas County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Kennard received his B.A. in Biology and MD from the University of Missouri at Kansas City six year medical program. He trained in General and Vascular Surgery at the University of West Virginia in Charleston. He is published in vascular surgery journals and general surgery journals. During his chief resident year he was a pioneer in the field of laparoscopy including laparoscopic appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and later colectomy, herniorraphy and anti-reflux procedures. He received extensive training in all aspects of general surgery, including vascular surgery. He became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 1992 and continues to follow its strict guidelines for maintaining ongoing excellence in education, ethical conduct, and practice standards.

While delivering compassionate and quality care, and strict professional standards, Dr. Kennard has distinguished himself as a leader in the medical community and recent recipient of the Quest award of Business Excellence, featured on WFAA Channel 8. This honor is based on leadership, expertise and community service. He has held the position of Chief of Surgery and Surgical Peer review committee at various hospitals. He has expertise in cancer surgery and serves on the Board of Cancer, and currently serves on the Board of The Physician Patient Network and on the Board of Trustees of Medical Center of Plano.

He resides in Plano, TX, where he lives with his wife and their two children. He enjoys playing golf, skiing and fishing.
